Your BMI-
Label threshold-

This checker compares your entries with published label criteria. It is not a diagnosis or a prescription; only a licensed clinician can decide whether a GLP-1 is right for you.

How this checker works

Weight management GLP-1s are approved for adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, or 27 or more with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol. The checker calculates your BMI and applies those thresholds. It also flags two situations where these medicines are not recommended: a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, and pregnancy.

Common questions

What BMI do you need for a GLP-1?

For weight management, Wegovy and Zepbound are approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with at least one weight-related health condition. A clinician makes the final decision.

People with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2), people who are pregnant, and anyone with a known serious allergy to the medicine. Your clinician will review other risks with you.
